An Interactive Board Game Design
This interactive board game box is a collaborative interactive design project completed by the entire class of the Art 110 class. My primary responsibilities included developing the creative concept, formulating the interaction design, and writing the core code. I also led the team to successfully complete the construction of the installation.
Given the one-week timeframe for production, the concept must be developed quickly and accurately to ensure feasibility. After discussions with my classmates, the final concept sketch has been outlined, covering the installation's effects, structure, interactive plan, performance outcomes, materials list, and division of labor.
For each distinct interactive event on the checkerboard, we have designed unique performance effects, including a carnivorous plant with gaping jaws, a magpie singing in the forest, a eerie and terrifying spider, and a dreamlike and mysterious black cat, among others.
Within the span of just one week, we went through several stages, including discussions on creative concepts, interaction design, task delegation, material preparation, detailed execution, and filming. Below is a record of the process.
